I'm getting a little bit better at knowing where to anticipate the action! Here are a few from the home scrimmage last Friday.

The only way I could handle Solomon without a babysitter or his Mimi was to strap him into the stroller and wheel him around everywhere while feeding him apples... that only lasted so long!

Thank goodness for Josh's mom! I wouldn't be able to be at a game longer than an hour without her!

Life is still really crazy. I feel like a single mom most of the time with Josh teaching and coaching, and so my time to blog has been really lacking. We went to a friend's house this weekend to get some face time with other human beings (Solomon mostly just sees me each day unless we plan an outing) and he got to play with dogs, kittens, this little rooster and goats! He loved it and especially loved jumping on the trampoline. What a lively boy he is turning into, always running around, always moving, always exploring. That's my kind of boy.

Becca:

Hey Lauren--I came to one of your brainwashes about a year and a half ago, and I remember you saying Josh was almost done with his education degree--and I've been kicking myself ever since, because when you said he was going to coach, I think I actually grimiced! What a jerk I am! My husband is a coach, so my initial reaction came from a very real part of my heart--but I hate that I did not follow up with a reassurance of how wonderful it is to have our mission field on the football field. I hope things at home aren't too hard with his long hours, and I also hope that each of your faiths are made stronger and more relevant every day! Have a great season, coach's wife!

Lauren:

Becca, I read "The Coach's Wife", a book about what to expect being a Christian coach's wife and it was so awesome! It prepared me with real expectations and I'm not really bothered by the long hours at all. I feel very involved with the team and the community and I actually love it!

I know, his nails are hideous, he throws a fit when I try to file them and so it takes me a little longer to get around to enduring the fits about it than I should:)

I thought about it this morning and realized that I've slacked on photos of Solomon lately. His videos are still waiting to be processed, there are tons of birthday photos that I am trying to get too and I'm just plain too busy to get to them! I don't have much spare time for the computer to dilly dally on personal stuff, but today I bit the bullet and took some pictures of Solomon doing what he does every morning...

I also switched up the b/w processing and really like it!

Josh is officially a working man now and started inservice for his teaching/coaching job yesterday! I am so proud of him and really never thought that this day would come when he would be out of school and working. Thank you Josh and thank you Lord! I plan on using my new freedom to reinvent my photography style and spend more time with my little guy.

Beautiful pictures!! I was just going to say that I clip my kiddos nails when they are asleep. It's the only way they will let me. I actually have a light on a headband thingy that I put on so that I can clip them at night! lol :)

LOVE these! So real-life!
As for his nails, I understand, filing took too long for me! I just use a small pair of nail clippers on my 1 yr old and it's pretty fast and easy!
Love the processing on these too! Looks like film.

With record breaking heat and moving into a small town of only about 400 people, we have been spending our days unpacking and... swimming....

Solomon's "Pops" (granddad) is a Captain at the Stillwater Fire Department and so that allows us the special privilege to go to the station and take a few photos! Solomon was running around everywhere and it was a hard session to get him to do anything besides run away and push the little firetruck, but I think we got a few cute ones!

My boy is getting so big!
