My job is officially seasonal:). I have one wedding this coming weekend in Mexico, one in March in Lubbock and one in April and then I'm finished until further notice with weddings.

I have been in hibernation mode lately, just sitting around the Holidays waiting for my morning sickness to leave me and looking for non-work things to do. I have had a great break and am officially starting back today with editing, emails and the like.

Tomorrow I will be 15 weeks pregnant, my how time flies! We are going to find out what our little baby will be in a week! I can't wait to know so that we can name him/her and start on the nursery! Getting pregnant really will change everything. My mind was immediately geared toward parenting and I felt a who lot more grown up when I saw that blinking "pregnant" light on the test. It's crazy because I still feel inferior to the seniors I photograph, like I'm younger than them or something.

I am starting to balloon up and out already and it's not looking so cute. I knew that I would be one of the swollen, chubby pregnant people but just didn't think that it would hit this early!

I am about to take a walk in the 34 degree weather with my husband and might have a picture or two to post... maybe.

Well it has been a few weeks since my last post about what's new with me. I have been swamped with work for one thing and really tired/sick/unmotivated in general since about 6 weeks into the pregnancy. I remember the day before we found out about the baby, we were searching Craigslist for the perfect farm truck, planning our organic vegetable garden and really moving along on the Farm Revival blog and our other "farmy" ventures. The night we found out all of those dreams seemed to disappear, I mean, managing and harvesting a 1/2 acre organic garden while 8 months pregnant was just not going to work. Although I was sad about my new hobby coming to a screeching halt (sorry Farm Revival girls, I will post again eventually, I just don't have anything to write about yet!), a new lifelong hobby (baby "S") was in the works.

I didn't feel sick for about 2 weeks after I found out about the baby and I kept thinking I was in the clear for not feeling bad at all... until one fateful morning, it hit me, when I started to feel nauseous and then proceed to vomit each morning. It was terrible. The good news is that my Dr. gave me a prescription for Zofran, a miracle drug that makes you feel 90% better while you are experiencing morning sickness. I got off of it 2 days ago and haven't felt too bad so hopefully the worst is long gone.

I also had decided to eat super healthy and exercise from the moment that we discovered our little one, yeah right, another good idea that didn't work out. Once the sickness set in at seven weeks the only thing that I could stomach was simple, dimple, carbs! Spaghettios, Mac and Cheese, KFC, honey buns and soda. I've never been a soda person until now when I crave it's bubbly wonderfulness ALL the time. Lucky for me, my healthy sister introduced me to Fresca a few years back.

Anyways, want to hear something amazing that has happened? Well having a baby will sure change the course and purpose of your life, and once I found out that I was going to be a mom my job security was looking a little sketchy. We did have enough money saved up to pay cash for the birth, but only if it was a normal delivery and nothing else. It was a scary thing to think about financially since we don't have anything but major medical insurance with no maternity benefits. I thought about how I could take on more weddings, but spending a whole 40 hours editing, shooting and handling a wedding just didn't justify it for me. We are just going to make what we need and hardly anything else. It is a far cry from what life we were living last year, but I think it will be wonderful. I plan on only taking a few sessions per week and spending all of my time with my little one. Ok, I keep getting off track, back to the good news. So one of my friends facebooked me when I mentioned that I was pregnant a few weeks ago and she introduced me to the Pawnee Benefit Package in Pawnee, Ok. Because Josh is 1/8th Choctaw Indian, the program will pay for EVERYTHING during pregnancy: the delivery, the doctor visits, the newborn care and even my baby's health care for the rest of it's life. Can you believe this incredible blessing?

We just spent all afternoon in Pawnee signing up and I wanted to give GOD the glory for this HUGE weight off of my shoulders.

Ok, back to work again...

Once a year, two weeks before Thanksgiving, Josh's family gets together to have an early Thanksgiving dinner so that everyone can go to their spouse's parents for the real Thanksgiving. Isn't that nice? Everyone is able to see each other on all sides! I am so thankful for this because it allows us to go to Grandma's farm for Thanksgiving with my family. We have been going to Dover, Ok for a few years now and always eat some really great food, play a little football and entertain the children. It is a nice relaxing weekend.

Josh also announced to his family that we were pregnant! It was fun:)

The next night we took all of the family out to our land to hike and have a campfire. It was exactly what this land was created for, everyone had such a fun time.

The Clark girls

My favorite part of the night was when Josh and I started taking the boys on walks down the trails in the dark. Josh gave Jonah his headlamp so that he wouldn't be as scared, but one of us would always run down the trail and hide to jump out at them when they came by. It was the funniest thing all night when I hid in the bushes and jumped out to scare Jonah, he screamed REALLY loud and for a really long time, even though he could see that it was me:)14092.jpg

It's been a while since I've opened up on the blog and I thought I would put together another HUGE piece to my life puzzle. Remember when I was at For The Love Workshop last February and decided to quit weddings out of the blue... because "the Lord told me to"? Well for about 6 months now I have been questioning that scary decision and many people who I trust in my life said that they believed that I really heard the Lord on it and to stick to it until further notice.

Weddings make up about 80% of our income, so to quit them was a crazy decision. I knew that we could possibly not make it without them... but I just couldn't come to taking them again for good when I so clearly heard the Lord tell me not to. A few months later I secretly took a few more, but strangely still had some reservations on taking any in next June or early July for some weird reason. I wasn't sure why, but it just didn't feel right. I thought that it was just burn out and that I was making up a divine reason to quit so that I didn't have to work every weekend, but when I thought about it that was not the real reason. I tried to maneuver my way around all of the options to get back into weddings so that I could start taking them again with a clean conscious and feel secure with my income and not have to "trust" the Lord. I was just really baffled to the reason why I quit weddings and was trying to make some logical sense about them.

Well now I know why the Lord told me to quit weddings. You see, by February of this year I had already booked 35 weddings (this is the fastest that I've ever booked up) and I knew that I wouldn't stop at 35, I would have taken 54 if I could have! I just can't say no and this is why the Lord stepped in and told me to quit cold turkey and wouldn't be able to adjust to this...

Want to see why the Lord had to intervene in my life and tell me to quit? I finally understood why about a month ago... you see, if I would have continued on my path of booking that many weddings then I wouldn't have had time or a life for this little baby! God always knows where He is taking us, He just doesn't let us in on the secret until the right time. I may or may not take a few weddings a year from now on, but for the first time I don't feel a red light to not take any at all. Maybe one a month and no other sessions? That would be nice for little baby and I.

Yep, I am due to have a little baby July 1, 2011 and little "baby S" was totally a shocking surprise!

P.S. I had a dream that it was a boy last night.

P.S.S. I have been dying to tell you for 6 weeks now. Have you noticed how slow my blog has been lately? I have been feeling pretty sick and haven't been doing a whole lot. I have felt a little better this weekend though!
