One of my favorite spots here in Stillwater is the OSU gardens. It is filled with hundreds of acres of paths through beautiful landscaping, forest and natural grass. I always want to go and walk there around sunset because the lighting is just so beautiful and the weather is awesome! My friend, Amanda Crawford, is always up for a spontaneous walk and my how I LOVE a spontaneous friend! Here are a few photos of her and her gorgeous daughter.

And of course, little Solomon. It's his first time to lay in the grass...

Can I just turn this into Solomon Clark's Blog instead? I think I have renewed my excitement for photography and am remembering the meaning for photographs. I'm turning into a sappy momma and just want to take his photo all day long... and so I do.

When my oldest son was first born I went nuts taking pictures of him. Last count was I had taken over 2,0000 pics of him. Now that my second son has been born I can see I am going to follow the same path. You're not sappy at all. You are a proud parent who happens to be an amazingly talented photographer...so why not combine two great things?

The Detailed Life:

My son is the reason I delved into photography... Now you know why there are so many stay-at-home mama's turned photographers... we can't help, but to photograph our lovely babes all day long and by doing so, discover (or re-discover) our artistic abilities.

Today, on Solomon's 7 week birthday, he was a brave boy and let me make a recliner for him out of Meridian. My firstborn great dane and my firstborn son.
14430.jpg

He also skyped with his cousins and his Aunt Marla this evening and just locked on with the computer screen!

He is smiling all the time now, I just never have my camera in hand when he does. I think tomorrow I will take pictures of him all day long and see what I can get. He is still just sleeping for 3 1/2-4 hours at a time at night and the long night sleep might just have to happen soon. I'm starting to feel a little more worn down lately, I told Josh that I feel like I have 4 part time jobs: photographer, mom, wife and housekeeper... not to mention all of the friendships that I need to keep up with!

Sol's Acid Reflux seems to be under control now and we still just have him on half of a pill of Prevacid once a day, not too bad at all. I tell you what, I read everything on the whole wide world web about AR when we found out that he had it. I'm glad that google and I are such great friends.

Aww poor sweety! You might like to try a good chiropractor too! I hear they do wonders for babies with acid reflux. :)

I've been videoing small clips of Solomon over the last 6 weeks and wanted to put them all together for a short home video for him when he is older. I'm not sure how I would put it together without songs in the background since they are such short clips, and so I'll be working on that for when he gets a little older. If you watched his birth announcement video then the first few minutes will look very similar and then I add a lot more! The songs are all by Elizabeth Mitchell and the video looks amazing when I play it on our LED TV with Blu-Ray! WOW! I feel like a movie maker when I watch it in our living room!

It's 11 minutes long for all of you multitaskers.

I have seen some really beautiful photos of mommas and their babies on Pinterest and I knew that if I didn't take any with Solomon at a young age that I would really regret it later on. Luckily I am a "Mom with a fancy camera", with a husband highly trained in exposure and photography:). He was kind enough to spend the evening toting our son and an old barrel around a field full of grasshoppers, chiggers and ticks to get some really beautiful shots of us! Everything was perfect: the light, the field, the weather and Solomon was acting great too! I would say that 95% of all photos of me that I post on my blog have been retouched to shave off a good 15 pounds from me and I am very happy to admit that I didn't "doctor" these at all! I've lost 35 pounds now and am only 15 away from pre-pregnancy weight! Thank you LORD! I thought I would be the person on the Biggest Loser a few years from now thinking that I wouldn't lose the 50-60 pounds that I gained during pregnancy, but these post pregnancy hormones are KILLER and I'm taking full advantage of them. Here are the photos that Josh took for me... Solomon is 6 1/2 weeks old now.

I am so jealous. Be so grateful that you have these pictures. I do photography also and my baby is now 3 months old. I wish more than anything that I would have had pictures done of us together. You are super lucky to have these AND that your hubbie is so willing to take them for you. Wish I could convince my man to do them! LOL
