One of my great friends, Amanda Watson, who photographed Solomon's birth, is two weeks farther along than me with her pregnancy and we decided to swap maternity photos yesterday! We met at POPS in Arcadia and spent some time around there switching out kids and outfits for photos. I am so excited, and nervous, about adding another child to our family. I can't believe that I only have 10 more weeks to have Solomon all to myself! I need to cherish this time with him because it's going to get crazy around here as Silas is born during the last month of school. Josh will be busy with baseball and wrapping up the school year and I feel like I will be on lock down in the house for 5 weeks with a 22 month old and a newborn.

I'm also getting a little more aware of what is going to happen to my body as I prepare for my first natural birth at home. I'm a little nervous about the whole experience and how well I will handle it all, but am also excited to experience something so different (besides the pain of course!).

I also thought that I would stay skinnier during this pregnancy and that is totally not happening. I'm up 45 pounds already and my midwife is not happy about that each time I "weigh in" for her. Oh well, I plan on losing it all again, but that ice cream just calls my name too often and with this increased depletion of energy I have a harder time saying NO!

YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!! I'm 23 wks preggers with my first and am SO excited!!! I got a couple pictures done this weekend and couldn't find anything to wear... I didn't look half as cute as you but it was fun none the less :) Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and please let us know how the birth goes! I am thinking of trying to go all natural at a birthing center... I'm just so scared of the pain this being my first baby... YIKES! You look amazing and don't you worry about a stupid number on the scale! As long as you and your boys are healthy that is all that matters!!!

Here is a 3 1/2 minute movie synopsis of my last week...

- 20 hours clocked in the new Honda Odyssey minivan with Solomon and Josh.
- My sister got engaged to her boyfriend who planned the engagement within 24 hours of asking me if it was ok if he married her. We both came to the conclusion "why not tomorrow?" and he pulled it together in a day!
- I saw my Nana, who I haven't seen in 8 years.
- The Clark family went to Beaver's Bend in Oklahoma for a snowy, Christmas, cabin getaway!
- It might have been the funnest Christmas yet!

I can't believe that a year ago Solomon looked like this!

My oh my, there is nothing better than motherhood! What a gift from God for me to be in the place that He designed me to be in, there is nothing more important or joyful than this! I would love to write a long love filled post about my son and what all he is doing now, but I am beat! He is learning new words everyday, new expressions and laughing more than ever. What a treasure children are.

November 20, 2012

So I was convinced that I was having a girl after dreaming about her around 7 weeks. I had a dream that Solomon was a boy around that time and with me not being as sick I was convinced that it was prophecy.

Not.

I was totally wrong and was thankful! Raising a daughter in this time and age is scary and I am thankful to have at least two boys before a girl, I need some strong, intimidating brothers to help her out with the boys when she is a teenager.

So we went in and I was so excited to prove my dream to be true, until she zoomed in on the bootie section and she said, "he is DEFINITELY a boy!", I was really shocked and had no expected that at all, which made it even more fun for me! I won't have to buy anything new or redecorate their room, hallelujah! Solomon will have a best friend who might even be in the same grade if we hold Solomon back due to a summer birthday.

We weren't for sure on a name until we went to Pei Wei and had dinner, and I wrote out all of the options on paper and it was down to Elijah or Silas. We went with Silas, meaning "forest" and his middle name is Alan, after my dad means "handsome". I love that we found another unique Bible name!

So here is a sono pic of Silas Alan Clark!

Julie:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I agree, brothers close in age are bound to be best friends!
We have such similar stories! I was also convinced my 2nd was a girl, until we found out he is a boy! :)
Our 2 boys are 15 months apart. Our oldest is already so in love with his brother. (our little one is only 2 weeks old). It is so sweet to see Isaac give his little brother, Case Elijah, hugs and kisses. That is all he wants to do, is kiss brother. :)
You will love having 2 boys! Congrats again!
*That is the reason I never got in touch with you about photographing us this fall, we had briefly talked about a trade last winter, photographing each other this fall, but we had a surprise when we found out we were having a 2nd little one! Now we should trade for our families of 4! :)
