I can't believe that a year ago Solomon looked like this!
u3047.jpg

My oh my, there is nothing better than motherhood! What a gift from God for me to be in the place that He designed me to be in, there is nothing more important or joyful than this! I would love to write a long love filled post about my son and what all he is doing now, but I am beat! He is learning new words everyday, new expressions and laughing more than ever. What a treasure children are.

Yesterday we had Thanksgiving lunch at our house in Agra with my mother-in-law before Josh whisked me away to a surprise overnight trip to OKC without Solomon. I had great plans to take more pictures of him yesterday, but right when I put him to bed for a nap, Josh said, "Well tell him goodbye, you won't see him til tomorrow!" and so things changed.

Here is my boy lately, growing like a weed. I am planning on taking his picture on Sunday in the Fall leaves!

So of course I had to release a double date Brainwash before Black Friday! Who wouldn't want to give their wife the gift of photography classes for Christmas??

I have had several inquiries about winter Brainwash dates here in Oklahoma and so here they are!

A mini group brainwash is a small group (normally 3-6 people) who come to my house for a 4 hour day and I teach them everything I can about photography and business in that time. I have opened up a Saturday and Sunday to help with finding childcare for the ladies.

Saturday, January 12, 2012 is for PORTRAIT emphasis! We will talk about children, seniors and families in this workshop and will photograph one of them together.

Sunday, January 13, 2012 is for WEDDING emphasis! We will talk about engagements and everything about weddings and will photograph a couple together. I will also talk about off camera lighting and flash in this class!

Here are some of the things that you will learn in both classes:

-how I shoot in manual
-my new photoshop techniques
-how I direct and pose people
-my lightening fast workflow
-watch me photograph and direct

Lunch will be provided and you will also get a new headshot taken by me!

Cost: $500
Location: my house in Agra, Oklahoma
Time: 10 AM-2 PM (it will probably last until 3 since we will have to drive 15 minutes away for the sessions)
Who can come? Anyone that lives farther than 1 hour away from Agra! I don't want to clone myself for my competition:)

Here are the links to book your spot

Well dang, wish you had moved 15 minutes more south, then I could attend. At 51 minutes I still don't meet your hour criteria! Hope you get a good turn out! Congrats on Silas Alan!

So I was convinced that I was having a girl after dreaming about her around 7 weeks. I had a dream that Solomon was a boy around that time and with me not being as sick I was convinced that it was prophecy.

Not.

I was totally wrong and was thankful! Raising a daughter in this time and age is scary and I am thankful to have at least two boys before a girl, I need some strong, intimidating brothers to help her out with the boys when she is a teenager.

So we went in and I was so excited to prove my dream to be true, until she zoomed in on the bootie section and she said, "he is DEFINITELY a boy!", I was really shocked and had no expected that at all, which made it even more fun for me! I won't have to buy anything new or redecorate their room, hallelujah! Solomon will have a best friend who might even be in the same grade if we hold Solomon back due to a summer birthday.

We weren't for sure on a name until we went to Pei Wei and had dinner, and I wrote out all of the options on paper and it was down to Elijah or Silas. We went with Silas, meaning "forest" and his middle name is Alan, after my dad means "handsome". I love that we found another unique Bible name!

So here is a sono pic of Silas Alan Clark!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I agree, brothers close in age are bound to be best friends!
We have such similar stories! I was also convinced my 2nd was a girl, until we found out he is a boy! :)
Our 2 boys are 15 months apart. Our oldest is already so in love with his brother. (our little one is only 2 weeks old). It is so sweet to see Isaac give his little brother, Case Elijah, hugs and kisses. That is all he wants to do, is kiss brother. :)
You will love having 2 boys! Congrats again!
*That is the reason I never got in touch with you about photographing us this fall, we had briefly talked about a trade last winter, photographing each other this fall, but we had a surprise when we found out we were having a 2nd little one! Now we should trade for our families of 4! :)

Jalie is the last of the Harrell daughters to get married, I went to high school with her and photographed her and her younger sister's senior photos a long time ago. The Harrell girls are the most beautiful group of sister's that I've ever met and I am so thankful to have photographed ALL of their weddings and gotten to know them over the years! Jalie and Kade are adventurers and people said that the gusty day was perfect for her because "she is like the wind".

Here are the favorites from the windy wedding in Lubbock last weekend!

AH-Ma-Zing! Looks straight out of a magazine. Love her smile, and what her sisters said about the wind, she sounds like the youngest child :c)
