Last night when we were out at the land with Kayla, Kevin and the three Great Danes it really made Josh and I want to come back today with our's for a good hour of hiking. Well, we forgot that we had to take them to the kennel by 6 PM tonight and so we had to leave at 4 and hike in the 104 degree heat. yuck. It was worth it, but BOY am I looking forward to the Fall weather a lot more than this steam bath weather!!!

Is this poison oak?
10725.jpgThey sure were tired after that hike!
... did I just tilt two pictures in a row? yikes!

If you are wondering why there aren't a lot of pictures of me in this post, it's because I looked like this the whole time... this is what I look like as an Oklahoman.

Our house only has one full bathroom in it and I must assure you that going over to the in-laws to shower every day when we first arrived wasn't too easy, it felt like we were camping in our house! We spent about $2500 on this bathroom remodel including a hefty $500 plumbing bill to move the pipes a good 3 feet to the left, but now that it is done I LOVE it!

The only thing in this bathroom that wasn't tossed out was the 50 year old tub. It was in ok shape and we decided to save $300 and keep it! New floor tile, new subway tile, new window, new vent, new sheetrock, paint, vanity, toilet, light, and racks! Aren't my husband and his dad just amazing?

This was the first major "gut" in the house, all of the other rooms are completely new, but have not taken as much effort as this little bathroom. We picked the subway tile from tileclearance.com and the vanity and everything else from Home Depot!

Remember when it looked like this?

Do you see how the vanity and mirror are right up against the bathtub? Awkward! This is why we moved the toilet, light box, and all plumbing over three feet! I am really glad the icky linoleum is gone also.

I have known Kayla for 15 years now, wow it is weird to say that. We met when my dad accepted the Baptist Pastor job of a congregation a bit smaller than 100 people in Hermleigh, Texas back in 1995. Kayla's dad was the Youth/Music minister there and our families have been close ever since! Kayla moved to Stillwater from the Snyder, Texas area our Freshmen year and she is actually who I met my husband through back in high school. She married Kevin three years ago and now that we are back in the area we get together every two weeks for couple dates. Kayla and Kevin are PERFECT together and their newest addition to the William's family is Satine, their 4 month old great dane pup. They drove down to bring her to the land and let her meet our two danes, which went pretty well by the way! Here are a few pictures of them...

Last night I met Addie and her mom at Aspen Coffee right in the high blazes of the Oklahoma heat... 106 again. We had a great time driving around Stillwater shooting on country roads, our land and some random new finds. Even though it was super hot, she still hung in there and was such a good sport! Here are my faves..
