So over the Christmas break we were able to finish painting a few rooms!

We got the kitchen, playroom and ugly wall in the dining room finished! It feels like such a cuter house now that I have most of my stuff up and out of the closets and we only have a few more things to do before it is all done! We will remodel the bathroom sometime over spring break and plan on putting a backsplash, new countertops and new sink in the kitchen this summer. It is a great little budget remodel and we were able to spruce everything up with a few cans of paint and some new carpet in this little house!

That looks wonderful, especially the kitchen. I really wish i could transform my kitchen in to something like that. But, i am just waiting for spring to come, will start working that. Got a few ideas from Pinterest.

If I could bottle your creativity and talent up, I would drink it for breakfast. Everyday. LOVE, LOVE what you've done. When you're not busy with being a wife, mommy, friend and photographer...perhaps you could dabble in interior decorating?! :) Love you friend. And miss seeing you in Stillwater.

What did I say? The bedroom's are multi-taskers! We had the challenge of combining our bedroom with our office and thanks to Ikea's super store we saw this setup of an office and it was PERFECT for our 9 foot ceilings. Our room also has several nooks and two closets, perfect for office storage and our clothes.

The living room still has a wall that had wall-paper and we will be working on getting that textured and painted this weekend and then this room will be complete!

I think you are the fastest decorator I know! I moved in with my husband five months ago and I'm still deciding on paint colors. What is the paint color on your living rooms walls? I've been looking for a color like it but haven't found the right color chip. Your new place looks great!

Wow, you've done it again! I LOVE every bit of it...especially the play room! If being an awesome photographer ever gets old you could totally get your own show on HGTV :)

Our new home is only 1090 sq ft, and so we have to make the rooms multi-taskers. It is a two bedroom, 1 bath and has an added sun porch that we turned into a playroom. I am trying my hardest not to make it super cluttered, but you have got to know that within the last three years we have downsized from a 2500 sq ft home and I really have gotten rid of a lot! I am still on a mission to minimize.

It's all super cute!! I wanted to ask when hanging heavier things in Sol's room did you guy have trouble going through the paneling to anchor it down? I'm looking at a house that has lots of paneling and I was wondering if I could hang book shelves and stuff on it, In my past experience it has been a pain but that was in a trailer not a house. Thank you!!

Misty, we used those screws that come with a plastic bolt thingy that you put in first, it secures things up to 65 pounds depending on which weight limit you buy them in. That is what we used:)

So we have almost finished all of the rooms except the kitchen and bathroom! Here is phase two before and afters, I'm hoping to have more photos of the finished rooms tomorrow. I'm starting back to work tomorrow and will have a few sessions and weddings coming up on the blog this week!

Also, a DIY tip that I learned from Josh this week on painting paneling: caulk the corners and anything that has gaps so that it paints seamlessly. It worked wonders and made it look very nice!

I've had several people ask to see what our new house looks like! Here it is!

Can you see the potential? I am SO excited to get started! This one will look a lot like our current house because I am just so in love with the colors that we've picked, but with a few changes, so be ready for a lot of before and after posts!  We are going to scale back the renovation on this one to paint and new carpet for now and then next summer do the bathroom and kitchen! Remember what our first renovation started as?

This is really a cute home, you should be very comfortable in it and wont need a lot of work to move into. That should leave you a little time to decorate to your taste. Congratulations on finding such a jewel in a small community.

Just a quick question for you Lauren. The house looks GREAT..you guys worked very hard and it looks very nice. Just wondering what are those two rooms of blue painted with as far as paint types, paint companies and color names? I love them and want to paint an accent wall in our house with those if possible! ;)
