We bought London as a six week old puppy in Lubbock. She was gorgeous, playful and potty trained within a few days. She was the light of my life there for a while. If you have followed my blog for a while then you remember when she almost died and she was diagnosed with Addison's Disease. She went into a crisis two days ago and we were force feeding her the medicine that she needed, but she wasn't getting any better. Last night we had decided to put her down today to put her out of her misery and when Josh went in to let them out she had already died. Poor baby. We love our dogs so much. The sad thing is, Josh let her outside last night while I was at home group and she got up real excited and then went and laid down under a wet tree outside, just like on Marley and Me. It is a sad day around here. This is my first dog to loose as an adult and I am selfishly thankful that she died in the night with Meridian next to her instead of me having to take her life for her at the vet this morning. The more you love, the harder the loss. London was my favorite.
i am sending you my most positive thoughts, lauren. your londy will always be with you. *

(02.16.12 @ 08:27 AM)This made me cry. I am so so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a dog that should have had many more years to live. Absolutely heartbreaking.
(02.16.12 @ 08:36 AM)Prayers for you and your family!! I have been there and it hurts so bad to lose such a sweet member of the family. Thankfully, God really helps take away the hurt and sadness. One great thing about being a photographer is you have so many sweet photos to cherish of all the good times!
(02.16.12 @ 09:41 AM)I am so sorry! My hubby and I got our first dog as a wedding present to each other and she passed away after 12 years. Your story made me cry...but at least you know she will meet you again in heaven someday and is out of pain! It is that unconditional love of a dog that makes them mean so much to us!

(02.17.12 @ 03:42 PM)Lauren, I'm sorry to hear about your loss of London. I have been following your blog for the past 6 years and know how much she meant to you guys. I know how hard it is to drive your beloved dog to the vet to have them put down, as I had to put down my Shyner of 14 years a while back. I am so glad that she was with you guys and she knows how much you love her. May her pictures and her memories be held close.
(02.17.12 @ 09:41 PM)I am so sorry for your loss Lauren! You are in my prayers. As you know we too love our dogs and they are part of our family so I know how you feel. Our love to you guys and sweet London.
(02.22.12 @ 10:40 AM)I'm sorry to hear about your loss Lauren. I have always remembered when your puppy was diagnosed with Addison's disease, because it was about the same time they diagnosed my mother with the same disease. Hang in there!
(02.22.12 @ 01:27 PM)I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet baby, London. My heart goes out to you. I know how it feels to love a dog so much that it hurts to even think about losing them or thinking someone else going through the same thing.
