Solomon is ALL about CARS these days. He runs and then makes “breaking” sounds when he stops with a grimace on his face, he collects cars, watches CARS youtube videos, brings his MACK truck to the table for dinner and talks non stop about the new “die casts” coming out. He’s fun, social, FAST, full of energy and mischievous. He’s definitely my mini me!

Solomon and Silas

We made it on our 12 hour journey down to Lubbock, Texas yesterday and tonight my mom helped me photograph the kids. It’s been ages since I’ve taken their photos where they weren’t just playing in their diapers, I had nothing planned or packed for group photos so we did the stand by of boys in their blue jeans. Solomon was easily bribed by a “car” toy and did his classic forced laugh for me the entire time. Photographers kids are the hardest. Solomon turns 3 this weekend and Silas is 14 months!

Garden update

This garden is something I’m so proud of! I’ve wanted a vegetable garden for 4 years now and because of pregnancies and moving it hasn’t ever worked out. I planted almost all of the things in my garden from seed and everything has grown without a hitch! The kids and I go out daily and pull weeds, water and eat sugar snap peas. I’ve been able to save tons of spoiled lettuce and herbs by growing my own and picking it as I need it. I have witnessed so many miracles of God by just watching the seeds do their thing, it’s really given my life a whole new feeling of understanding about food and how to grow it. Of course I read books by Joel Salatin and Michael Pollan to help me along my way with purpose and vision for my garden, but most of what I’ve learned I received by watching the Back To Eden Garden Film. The method works marvelously and I have very few weeds to pull in the wood chips! I can’t wait to plant my fall garden in the next few months!

"Lauren Lee, a horse of a different color".

From childhood Self discovery, storytelling and curiosity have always been the foundations of my heart.

The exploration of everything in life has always allured me farther and farther into risk, creativity and wonder. I have always been one to swim up stream and carve out a life that was a little bit unique from the status quo.
