The Harrison family | Lubbock Family Photographer

I just got home from my 6 day trip to Lubbock last night and we are so glad to be home!

When we decided to move away from Lubbock during the busiest boom I’ve ever had with my photography business in West Texas I knew I would need to plan a few trips back to schedule shoots with some of my long time clients. I packed in 11 photoshoots, a wedding meeting, homeschooling and editing within 6 days.

Talk about a whirlwind!

But when you have clients this fun you just want to keep coming back! I loved getting to photograph the Harrison family again and loved that they brought their Golden Retriever downtown for their kid’s session.

How fun are they??

Since moving away to Dripping Springs at the beginning of August I have been able to refresh me perspective on the locations in Lubbock and got to find so many new places that I’ve not used before. I loved going back with a renewed sense of creativity with the small Depot District downtown. Thanks again for having me do your kids’ photos, Jill!

Rikta and Connor | Austin Couple Photographer

Oh Austin, you just keep delighting me with all of your beauty!! I have always said that if I could just get out of Lubbock and have more variety, trees and options that my photography would really grow and I just keep loving it more and more here!

I wanted to find a couple to explore S. Congress Ave with and found Connor and Rikta on social media- they were the PERFECT fit! We explored so many new areas and I am in LOVE with all of the color!

These two began dating year ago and so it was a special weekend to do their session together- their one year anniversary! Rikta is a neurophysiologist and Connor is a sonar engineer for submarines! I loved getting to ask them about their fields of work and how they got into their fascinating careers.

We found some of Austin’s finest murals on South Congress and I always LOVE the energy some wild, colorful wall paintings can bring into a couple session.

These two showed me their best dance moves while listening to the Austin Motel pool party going on behind them. The scene on South Congress is so lively and fun. I was pretty impressed with their dancing moves too.

We ended trying to get the capital and downtown in the background in the middle of the street. There was a family beside me on the opposite side of the crosswalk that kept kissing and dipping and cheering too. Thank you Connor and Rikta for letting me explore Austin with you two!

Hayes Family | Dripping Springs Family Photographer

Last night I got to photograph this amazing Dripping Springs family on their modern farm in the drizzling rain.

Rain? I’m not used to all this rain!! Lubbock had probably 5 rain days per year and I am going to need to learn how to improvise with the weather more often living down here in the Texas Hill Country!

Holly and Jeff were willing to withstand the sprinkles and gray skies to get their family photos done with their adorable daughter, Havana, and all of their farm animals.

Holly is the founder and CEO of Sanctuary Project, a non-profit that provides meaningful employment to survivors of abuse and trafficking. They sell GORGEOUS jewelry! I’ve been wearing my Sanctuary Project necklace for a month now and love it! Check it out here.

The “Paw Patrol” (Great Pyrenees) were out and about in the cow and goat pen and I hopped the fence and got clobbered with kisses and muddy paws.

Holly feeds her Scottish Highlander cows fritos! I thought that was so funny and genius!

Right at the end of the session the rain cleared up and we had the most beautiful sunset! Havana was out of smiles by then, but I knew I could get a good silhouette as a last photo with her. I loved how these came out!

Thank you Holly and Jeff for having me come out to your magical farmstead to capture your family!

Emma | Trinity Christian Senior | Lubbock Senior Photographer

I have loved getting to photograph so many seniors from my alma mater, Trinity Christian . Emma has just started her senior year there and I was so excited to get to do her senior photos right before I moved away from Lubbock. I have photographed their family photos for years now and have loved getting to know Emma’s family.

Since prom was cancelled because of COVID last semester Emma brought her prom dress out as part of her senior session. Isn’t that pink just gorgeous on her?

We finished up the session at the Lubbock Arboretum for some beautiful light and greenery. I loved how they turned out and was so happy to have been a part of Emma’s high school journey!

Madison | Brownfield Senior | Lubbock Senior Photographer

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Madison’s senior session in Lubbock, Texas. We found some new gems downtown Lubbock that I had never used before and that ALWAYS feels like a win to me!

Madison was such a delight to photograph and her outfits were so gorgeous! I can’t imagine 2020 being my senior year, but this girl is taking it with positivity and confidence!

Congratulations on your final year in high school, Madison!

Lake Travis Boating Session | The Hronek Family

The Lakeway Sail and Ski Yacht Club is becoming a familiar place to me these days! I met the Hronek family at the docks last night to sail on their amazing, 30 foot, Catalina sailboat.

I was wondering how the kids were going to do during this session since they were so young and in such a confined space over water, but it worked out beautifully!

Elle, Jake’s co-captain, was quite the driver! She would look at me for a photo and the boat would tilt pretty good one direction or the other. Good thing her dad was the backseat while she had the wheel.

They took me to their favorite cove on Lake Travis and we dropped the anchor before sunset and the light was GORGEOUS! We worked those kids into smiles a million different ways and I love how they turned out.

Finn was extra serious most of the session and when I had the right focus at the right moment I knew this would be my money shot from the entire session! I love when I can get those smiling photos of the more serious kiddos.

Those water silhouettes will never grow old!

Thank you Jake and Melanie for another amazing night on the water!

If you have a boat on Lake Travis and are interested in a unique family photography experience then I would love to work with you! I will join you on your sailboat, power boat, wakeboarding boat, heck- even a canoe! Email me at info@laurenclarkphotography.com or text me at 405-269-2861 to schedule your session today.
