Jaclyn and John Busa |Fredericksburg Vow Renewal

Jaclyn and John met in high school and created a long distance relationship through AOL instant messenger… that eventually blossomed into a thriving marriage with two adorable kids.

They decided to have a vow renewal every ten years and this one was supposed to be in Hawaii, but COVID came a calling and they moved it to a cute AirBnB in Fredericksburg, Texas.

These two invited their family from Houston and arranged the sweetest ceremony where they rewrote their vows and affirmed their deep commitment to one another. I got misty eyed hearing their love for one another only 15 minutes after meeting them. You could just feel the devotion and it was so inspirational!

Their two kids were so adorable and I just loved how sweet and gentle they were with one another.

True love! Picking out the stickers in her dress for her.

I enjoyed meeting the Busa family and had such a wonderful time photographing their vow renewal!

McKinley | Lubbock Senior Photographer

It’s not very often that I meet someone and their energy explodes outward in a beautiful swirl of joy. McKinley is that kind of person. She is a fellow enneagram 7 and was just bubbling over with connection and kindness.

I had such a great time with her walking around Texas Tech and talking about her life. She kept asking me questions about my life and followed them with “FUN!” “I LOVE THAT!” and “AWESOME!”… that’s when I asked her what enneagram she was… I just knew it! Kindred spirits really connect deeply when they meet.

McKinley, I wish you all the best as you move onto your next chapter in life! Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from TTU!

The Held Family | Wimberley Family Photographer

Layne and Marco were vacationing in Wimberley a few weeks ago and contacted me to photographed their family session in the area. I was delighted when they wanted to meet at Old Glory Ranch, one of my favorite wedding venues with a gorgeous river area.

Their daughter was so adorable and kept giving me her “cheese” smile over and over. She was definitely well trained for the camera!

You can tell that this family is so connected and love their daughter so much! Thank ya’ll for hiring me to do your family photos!

The Stults Family | Lubbock Family Photographer

I love getting to work with repeat clients! Cristina scheduled with me again this year and I always love working with all of her fun kids! We met downtown Lubbock at one of the new buildings and it looked like downtown Dallas!

It was great to see ya’ll again and thanks for having me photograph your family!

Hamilton Pool

We booked Hamilton Pool reservations back in March over Spring Break when we planned to come down to Dripping to visit family. The pandemic had just hit the US and the first warnings about social distancing were hitting. So many things had changed for our family in March and I knew that I needed a trip to see something beautiful, but sadly we came down with what I think was a mild case of Covid the day before we planned to leave. We canceled our trip 30 minutes before we were supposed to leave town hoping to go the next morning, but that’s when the mild fever began coming and going each day. We waited another several weeks before we got to make our trip down to Dripping.

Our reservations were also soon canceled as Travis County Parks began to close for months and months.

Hamilton Pool’s reopening has been on my weekly watch list ever since! I randomly checked the website a few weeks ago and think I happened upon the website the day it reopened and booked two slots to see it. I’m glad I did because they sold out within days!

The swimming is still closed due to social distancing, but the hike down was gorgeous! It is one of my favorite places in the Texas Hill Country so far. I will definitely be here a ton next summer to swim with the kids!

There is a hiking loop around the pond that circles into the cave and back around so that you can have a 360 view of this amazing place! There were huge catfish in the pond too, which my kids loved!

There is another trail that hikes down to the Pedernales River, but that is also closed due to COVID.

Before we came here the boys and I decided to get a GoPro and let them make a Youtube channel as a homeschool project. You can view their tour of Hamilton Pool here.

It is $12 per car to reserve a spot to come and see the pool and an additional $8/adult with kids under 12 years old being free. They only take cash for the entrance fee so be sure to bring some! You will definitely want to add this one to your list when you are in the Dripping Springs area!

Until our next adventure…

Maris and Michael | Austin Engagement Photographer

Maris and Michael were my first couple to book a wedding with me in Dripping Springs after I moved here. I was SO excited to partner with such a great couple as their photographer.

We began their engagement session with their dog, Rhett, at McKinney Falls State Park. I have had it on my list of places to visit, but was SO impressed with how amazing it was once we got there. It had a cliff with a rushing waterfall and a large pool where everyone was floating around and jumping off the cliffs. You would never know that there were about 40 people in swimsuits walking around us at this location.

After McKinney Falls we went down to Rainey Street where these two met and we walked around as they told me of all of the cute bars and hangout spots that I needed to visit. So many were still shut down because of COVID, but I’ll be excited to go back when more of them are open.

Our final destination was the Long Center. We were driving around trying to find parking and the light kept fading more and more. Finally we nailed two parking spots at the front of the building and ran to the top of the concrete area to get those amazing skyline views of downtown Austin.

And of course we got to play with the nautical twilight period and try some new silhouettes that included the ambient light from the Long Center!

Thank yall for hiring me to photograph your engagement session! I can’t wait for the wedding next fall!
