I’ve been photographing Elijah Braun since he was five years old.
He was one of my best friend’s kids when I was newly married and trying to explore children’s photography. The first photo session I did of him was eating Chik-fil-a at his kitchen table and playing with plastic balls with his two year old brother.
It was really neat for him to come down to Austin and have me do his senior photos and I officially felt like an old person.
Elijah has been so well trained with my style of shooting that I didn’t even have to engage and build rapport… I just told him to “smile”, “not smile”, “laugh”, “look off”, etc… and he nailed it each time. We laughed about all of the tricks I taught him over the years through all of those photo sessions and awkward stages of the tweenage years.
I’m so proud of the amazing young man he is growing into. This guy is meant to be a calm and compassionate healer. He told me he wanted to be a pastor, physical therapist or counselor. I think he’d do a mighty job in any of those fields.
