Sarah contacted me a few weeks ago about coming to their country home and photographing a newborn lifestyle session for her family and their bookend baby, Ava.

I am not the best newborn photographer and usually send those inquiries to someone who specializes in newborn sessions, but I couldn’t turn this one down!

Sarah and Jeremy were one of my first weddings when I was getting more well known in the West Texas area for wedding photography over 13 years ago. I had just won a $5000 canvas giveaway at WPPI in Las Vegas (out of 10,000 people!) and blew up SO MANY of their engagement and bridal photos for my gallery. Their canvases were 4-5 feet tall and were EVERYWHERE in my office and my home hallway. I felt like I was in the big leagues when I finished their wedding because it was NEXT LEVEL gorgeous!

I have done the Brown’s family photos off and on for over a decade and after last night I felt this sad and strange feeling of not knowing what to say as I’m about to move away from Lubbock. I wanted to say something profound, maybe shed a little tear and give a not-so-social-distanced hug, but in true Enngeagram 7 form I just said “well, I’ll see ya’ll later!”.

Sarah and Jeremy, I am so honored to have been your photographer for the last 13 years and am so proud of who you are and what you stand for as a family.
