Samuel’s first week

Sam’s first week was so wonderful! My mother-in-law, Laura, drove up from Stillwater the afternoon that I took my shot of castor oil and went into labor. She has been in the room for all of my son’s births. She stayed for over a week and cooked, cleaned, did laundry, played with the boys and let me rest in bed and get to know baby Sam. It was the most thoughtful thing that can be done for a mom, seriously, every new mother should have this done for them, it is like the best gift ever. The morning after I had Sam, Laura and Josh helped the kids dye easter eggs, which they loved, especially since Solomon always watches “disney surprise eggs” on youtube. He was a big fan of the egg hunt afterwards too.

I could not be more pleasantly surprised at how Silas and Solomon were in awe of their baby brother. Silas kept saying “TURN! TURN?!” and wanted to hold him. They just kept kissing and patting his head. It made me so happy!

Let me show you the importance of hiring another professional photographer to capture your kiddos. I feel like I’m pretty good at children photography, but doing my OWN children’s photos was a complete mess. I just laughed after I was finished because of how badly I did!

Since we are moving close to Silas’s 2nd birthday we decided to celebrate it while Laura was in town. We went to the Sea Life aquarium since it had an Octonauts themed room and then to Fritz’s train restaurant.
